President Joe Biden, like many before him, appeared to violate the norms around visiting the queen of the United Kingdom.
Various world leaders and British royals gathered at the Eden Project in Cornwall for the G-7’s inaugural dinner Friday night, which was when the president committed his faux pas.

It is tradition that all of the queen’s guests arrive before her, though the president of the United States and the first lady arrived after her Friday, according to the Daily Mail.
“It is correct for everyone to arrive before the royal personage and protocol rules that no guest should leave an event before a member of the Royal Family," according to Debrett’s, a leader on royal etiquette.

The two sides are set to reconvene for tea at Windsor Castle on Sunday.
Former President Donald Trump also kept the queen of England waiting during his 2018 trip overseas. Other U.S. officials have flubbed their interactions with the royal family as well.
